Observations


  1. Set One- Jogues 3rd Floor- Honors Living Learning Community(Female)
    1. The roommates seem to get along for the most part.
    2. They have had a couple of disagreements.
      1. Rearranging the furniture→ one roommate didn’t like where the other roommate moved her wardrobe to
    3. They both agree on most things and have similar opinions about things.
    4. They have the same major. They are also both pre-med. Additionally, they are both Italian and love to eat Italian food.
    5. The roommates get meals together and do homework together in their room often.
    6. One roommate enjoys partying while the other does not.
      1. There have been conflicts about the partying once when one roommate was out and the other was locked out→ the roommate had to leave the party to go unlock the door
    7. For this group, they feel that random roommates worked out well. However, they would have prepared to pick their roommates.
  2. Set Two- Gonzaga Third Floor(Female)
    1. These two roommates do not exactly get along but do not hate each other either.
    2. The room is slightly awkward and silent because they do not talk a lot.
    3. They have had a couple of disagreements throughout the year.
      1. One roommate is very loud at night or in the morning when the other roommate is sleeping
      2. One roommate likes the room very warm while the other prefers it on the cooler side
    4. The most they really say to one another is “hi” or “bye” and occasionally there is some small talk between the two.
    5. They feel that random roommates did not work out in their case and they would have preferred the option to pick.
  3. Set Three- Gonzaga Second Floor(Male)
    1. The roommates do not get along with each other.
    2. The roommates frequently get into fights with one another.
      1. Bought a fish without asking
    3. One roommate lies constantly to the other.
    4. One roommate is significantly more organized than the other.
    5. Their roommate surveys did not match and random roommates did not work out for them.
  4. Set Four- Campion Second Floor(Female)
    1. The roommates don't have any problems living with each other.
    2. One roommate keeps the room more organized than the other.
    3. The roommates frequently engage in conversations and it is never awkward.
    4. One roommate goes out more than the other.
    5. The roommates both have different sleeping schedules.
    6. They feel random roommates worked out fine, but they would have rather picked their roommates.
  5. Set Five- Regis Second Floor(Female)
    1. The two roommates get along and are very good friends.
    2. They have the same major and have two classes together.
      1. The roommates do homework together and help each other study.
    3. They like to get meals together, workout together, they even joined the same groups on campus.
    4. They have not had any disagreements at all.
    5. They would not have preferred to pick their roommates.
      1. They liked the opportunity to branch out
      2. They think random roommates worked out best for both of them
  6. Set Six- Regis Third Floor(Male)
    1. These roommates get along well.  
    2. So far they have had no disagreements at all.  
    3. They do not hang out with each other.  
    4. Both roommates are very different people.  
    5. They don't have any major problems and they liked how random roommates worked out.  
  7. Set Seven- Gonzaga Third Floor (Male)
    1. These roommates get along for the most part.
      1. Different for the most part
    2. They hang out outside the room often.  
      1. Share beer
    3. They have had no disagreements at all.
    4. For these roommates, they are happy with random roommates and it worked out well for them.  
  8. Set Eight- Jogues Second Floor(Male)
    1. The roommates get along well.
      1. They don’t like to hang out with each other outside of the room
    2. They have had no disagreements at all.
    3. For the most part, these roommates are different.  
    4. For these roommates, they liked how random worked out.  
  9. Set Nine- Campion Third Floor(Male)
    1. The roommates get along well.  
    2. They have had no disagreements at all.  
    3. They both hang out very often.  
      1. Party together
      2. Very similar to one another
    4. Random roommates worked out well for these guys and they liked how it turned out.  
  10. Set Ten- Campion Third Floor(Female)
    1. The roommates do not get along well, they hate each other.  
    2. The roommates have had several disagreements.  
      1. One roommate is very inconsiderate
        1. Locks the other one out
        2. Loud in the morning → turn on lights when the other is sleeping
        3. Kicks roommate out to have parties/have guests over,
        4. Freezes the others food in fridge leaves food out to get moldy
    3. There has only been one time the roommates hung out.  
      1. Pity invite by one of the roommates friends
    4. Their personalities are polar opposites.
    5. One of the roommates ended up moving out of the room.  
    6. Random roommates did not work out for them and they wish they could’ve picked their roommates.
